required of practitioners has changed dramatically. This series will
examine how technological advances provide the foundation for asset
protection to be integrated into all aspects of the business, and the
importance of the security function as a strategic business partner.

Advanced Security Management
Certification
Series |
Organizations rely on the security function in order to conduct
business, and demand that practitioners comprehend the enterprise risk
model which affects all aspects of the operation. The business of security
is increasingly coming under scrutiny as organizations realize the
importance of this critical function, and the skills and competencies of
the individuals that occupy key positions are coming into question. The
advanced technology and proper practice of security itself are constantly
changing and evolving areas of study. This series is designed to prepare
participants to earn a professional designation, and introduce the
standards and guidelines that are being endorsed by Homeland Security
which offer protections to organizations that utilize these practices. For
current certificants, this course will provide an opportunity to maintain
their professional designation and serve as a business acumen refresher.
Participants will have access to case studies, assessments, and reference
materials useful for their personal and professional development. Advanced
legal aspects, leadership and management competencies are incorporated
throughout the curriculum. This series builds on the security management
certification series previously offered by Soaring Eagle Enterprises.
Participants must fulfill one of the pre-requisite requirements: prior
successful completion of the Security Management course, maintain a
current professional designation of CPP, PSP or PCI, or permission of the
instructor.

Security Management-Legal
Aspects of Security |
Topics include Civil and Criminal Law
pertaining to private Security; Liability, Investigations, case
management, interviews and interrogations, hiring and training. This
course encompasses discussion on legal concepts relevant to proprietary
security in a variety of industries. The differences between 'private
security' and 'law enforcement' will be highlighted from both the law
enforcement, and personal liability perspectives. This course
will examine criminal law, tort law and industry specific crimes with an
emphasis on issues affecting the business.

Management-Security Operations and Report Writing |
This class will explore
the ‘who, what, where, when, why, how’ and action taken in the
fundamentals of developing operational plans and documenting incidents.
Strategies will be introduced to ensure the security staff can develop a
complete, comprehensive, and accurate report to reduce risk and increase
security.

Management-Workplace Violence-Prevention and Response |
This course will address
how to develop a comprehensive workplace violence prevention and response
plan. Identify the indicators and potential triggering events associated
with workplace violence incidents. Case studies will be utilized to
examine common themes and identify mistakes in managing incidents that
could be prevented to mitigate future incidents and reduce liability.

Management-Emergency Response and Crisis Management |
Development of clear definition of roles and
responsibilities related to crisis management. Build the skills necessary
to conduct security surveys, crisis simulation exercises, vulnerability
assessments and post incident debriefings. Develop tactics and procedures
for evacuation and hazard planning. This course will help to identify the
qualifications of First Responders and understand the Homeland Security
procedures and requirements.

Management-Convergence and Physical Security |
Traditional physical
security is increasingly reliant on information technology and the ability
to speak the same language with computer security experts is a necessity.
Learn how to incorporate security concerns with facilitating effective and
efficient operations, combining devices with policies and staff for an
integrated, comprehensive loss prevention program. This session will
address 'selling' the system design, to management; technical
considerations, device selection and the acquisition process.

Management-Security Leadership |
This course will develop successful workplace leadership
skills including personal communication, tone setting and relationship
building in a Security environment. Learn to identify and adjust your
own personal style for maximum effectiveness from the briefing room to the
Board room. Participants will gain an understanding of motivation and
personal power, and how to best utilize feedback
to effectively coach their staff with an emphasis on focusing on the
mission.
With the use of an assessment tool, Security practitioners
will learn to identify and develop their own leadership style to motivate
their staff.

Security Management-Public
Relations for Security Professionals |
Learn how to make your Security department an integral part
of the senior management team, and change the image of the department team
members from ‘guards’ to ‘officers.’ This course provides the framework
for building cooperation among departments and external agencies. Learn
how to create the appropriate image for the Security department and
identify and handle difficult customers. Participants will engage in
exercises focused on modeling integrity and ethics in their
interactions and utilizing proper conflict management skills.
