Leadership Excellence-Emotional Intelligence I-Self Management Detailed Description
No one is really able to manage and lead others unless they are able to manage themselves. The Self Management program utilizes the personal half of emotional intelligence to build the skills needed to correctly manage actions, words, demeanor, attitude and image. The importance of a person’s example and that impact on others is the primary focus of this unit.
Self Management also reviews how to obtain meaningful feedback about personal behavior and attitudes. Often people do not see some of the very behavior that is most destructive to the working environment. From the feedback, participants begin to improve resilience, optimism, creativity, flexibility, self-control and self-regulation. The importance of consistency in behavior and attitude are also covered in Self Management. Twelve steps to Self Management will be introduced and that includes a road map to building greater results using an objective oriented process.
As a set of core skills and competencies, Self Management is very important for leadership, customer service, teamwork and organizational success.
